GSA - A decade of building industry collaboration and friendships
GSA's first "official" meeting occurred in May 1998 in a small hotel of Flamingo Drive in Las Vegas. GAMMA announced its incorporation as a 501(c)(3) non-profit standard setting organization. GSA started with representatives of six companies on the board - Acres, Aristocrat, Bally, Mikohn, Sigma and Silicon Gaming. Today we have grown to more than 72 members worldwide and are recognized as the only standard setting organization focusing on casino gaming. It has been a challenging road. Today, however, the challenge is met and our standards are being embraced by the industry.
Since the inception of the organization, we have all shared a common vision that is clearly articulated in our mission statement. The foundation of GSA is the combined perseverance, conviction, common sense and passion of our members.
Personally I am very grateful to have been given an opportunity in my life to work together with so many great people. I have witnessed engineers collaborating and discussing solutions that are best for the industry as a whole and forgetting who they are working for. I have had the great pleasure of working with our many very active board members. They have continuously helped steer the organization in the right direction. Additionally I had the ability of being able to select a great team the GSA staff members. We all enjoy a wonderful working relationship that "gets things done." Witnessing this dedication is very rewarding.
GSA has brought together many people and created friendships that would otherwise simply not exist today. I certainly have enjoyed the many friendships that have built up during all these years of collaboration. It is hard to believe that a decade has passed but today I am already looking forward to the next one.
To all our members - thank you. Without your support and dedication GSA would simply not exist.
