A Message From the President

GSA's standards, like any other standards development organization, solely depend on the volunteer participation of a small but highly technical and professional group of individuals to create and develop standards. To drive global adoption it is important that the knowledge we gained during the development is circulated to as many people as possible.

New GSA Members

Membership continues to expand in 2009. GSA is excited to have Techlink Entertainment International Ltd. as our latest Platinum Member. Western Canada Lottery Corporation has joined at the Silver level and Tech Results is the newest Gold Member.

GSA at IGE 09

GSA's booth at IGE 09 (formerly ICE) in London was quite busy with visitors who wanted to know all the latest details regarding GSA Standards. The attendees asked a variety of questions and were happy to speak with Marc McDermott, GSA's Technical Director, Peter DeRaedt, GSA's President and Ethan Tower, GSA's Protocol Director.

GSA' Second Annual European Technical Meetings

GSA's second European Technical Meetings were held in Hillegom, Netherlands during February 3rd to the 5th. Gaming Laboratories International, LLC hosted the meetings and over 20 participants from Europe and the United States attended the G2S, SAS, S2S and Transport Committees.

Technical Committee Update

As 2009 begins the first quarter, GSA's technical committee chairs held elections for the upcoming year. The January Technical Meetings were held in Hillegom, Netherlands and hosted by GSA member company Gaming Laboratories International, LLC. This was our second annual European meeting and a successful event.

GSA at NIGA, April 16, 2009

GSA at Canadian Gaming Summit, April 30, 2009

Marc McDermott, GSA Technical Director will moderate a panel discussion regarding Communication Requirements for Regional Solutions at the Canadian Gaming Summit at Caesars Windsor in Windsor, Ontario.

GSA at Southern Gaming Summit, May 7, 2009

Marc McDermott, GSA Technical Director will moderate a panel discussion regarding Leveraging Networked Gaming Technology to Enhance the Player Experience at the Southern Gaming Summit in Biloxi, MS.

GSA at GEM

GSA will participate at Asia's GEM during April 2-3 in Manila. Visit us at Booth #H1 located at the SMX Convention Center to learn the latest news on GSA's standards. Also, Peter DeRaedt will be presenting on April 1st and discuss Trends and Advances in Gaming Technology.

GSA University

Since it began operations last spring, GSA University has educated 82 representatives from 5 countries and 15 different companies who enrolled in its Executive Awareness or G2S Certified Engineer Programs. Of those representatives, 30 individuals were certified as "G2S Certified Engineer - Basic Level". On-site sessions provided the training opportunity for 53 individuals, while the remaining 29 individuals were trained through GSA University's off-site sessions.

In 2009, GSA University has taken its education global by offering courses worldwide. In the past two months, GSA University has offered a G2S Certified Engineer - Basic Level session in Macau and an Executive Awareness Program session in Amsterdam, Netherlands. From March 23-27th, GSA University will be offering a G2S Certified Engineer - Basic Level course in Sydney, Australia.
