Gaming is changing, GSA standards are being adopted and the industry as well as the investment community are finally getting over the old buzz words of server based gaming. The gaming community is realizing that it is all about networked gaming. During the last couple of months, I joined many of our members on multiple panel discussions where we articulated the power of networked gaming.

GSA at Current Industry Events
GSA representatives have been busy traveling to a variety of industry events and sharing the latest news. Marc McDermott, GSA Technical Director traveled to Amsterdam and presented at the GLI European Roundtable on April 10th. Peter DeRaedt, GSA President presented at the SMART-Tech Conference which described the benefits for lotteries with open standards in Charleston, SC on April 29th. Line Robichaud, GSA Educational Director and Peter shared a GSA Overview and Update at the Canadian Gaming Conference in Montreal on April 30th. The next stop on Peter's speaking tour was Southern Gaming Summit in Biloxi, MS on May 7th where he moderated a session focusing on the networked slot floor of the future. CasinoFest 6 was the next industry event in Prior Lake, MN on May 13th where Peter participated in a roundtable discussion focusing on Open Protocols, Open Networks, Server-Based Gaming & Your Casino. The last stop on May 23rd was the Gaming Technology Summit in Las Vegas where Peter delivered a GSA Standards Update.

GSA Celebrates 10 Years
GSA celebrated its 10 year anniversary on April 3rd in Las Vegas at the Hofbrauhaus and enjoyed tasty appetizers and incredible desserts. It was the perfect evening to raise our glasses to toast the challenges as well as the successes. GSA's first "official" meeting occurred in May 1998 in a small hotel on Flamingo Drive in Las Vegas and so much has been accomplished over the years.

As the temperatures begin to rise during the second quarter of 2008, GSA's technical committees are moving full steam ahead. The April Technical Meetings were held in Vegas and hosted by Aristocrat.

GSA at Gaming Executive Europe Summit, July 10, 2008
Peter DeRaedt, GSA President will deliver a presentation focusing on server-based gaming at the Gaming Executive Europe Summit in Madrid, Spain.
GSA will participate at G2E Asia during June 3-5 in Macau. Visit us at Booth #1528 located at the Venetian Macao to learn the latest news on GSA's standards.
Last fall, the Gaming Standards Association has signed a memo of understanding with the Macao Polytechnic Institute. GSA and MPI will officially open doors to the GSA Macao Office and the MELCO Gaming Research Lab on June 2, 2008. MPI will act as GSA's office in Asia, and GSA will support MPI in an effort to spread the technical knowledge of GSA's gaming protocol standards to students in Macao and other parts of Asia through MPI.
