GAT is GSA’s serial communication protocol used for identifying and authenticating gaming software and firmware in the field. Used by regulators and operators, GAT allows a master to connect to an EGM via a serial cable and to authenticate the software and firmware components within the EGM. Typically, a laptop PC is used as the master.
